If you have a child in my room you will know that the sun is always shining in our classroom (at least on the board in our daily agenda)! Even though the weather was crazy warm and white outside this we were extra busy this week, learning out writing book reviews and ‘interviewing’ for a position to read books on tape.
Happy March ~ Find yourself a good book, or article and read for fun.
If you found this perhaps you are a parent of a First Grade student at Baugher Elementary. I sure hope so! The beginning of school is just days away! I hope that you are planning to attend our Open House on Wednesday, August 23rd from between the hours of 4:30 and 6 pm. I am looking forward to meeting you and my new students!
Last week we had fun celebrating Easter with egg dying, an egg hunt (Thank you to the HS National Honor Society!) and solving both addition and subtraction number models with Skittles.
This week we are learning about the water cycle with big words like evaporation, condensation and precipitation. The Kindergartners are enjoying the outside free play and their bunches of dandelions are beautiful!
Our Kindergarten team is so excited to be singing in the annual Snow Show at White Deer Elementary on Friday, Feb 3rd.
This week in our classroom we talked a lot about groundhogs. We checked out several videos on Discovery Ed and then caught a glimpse of him and his regal handler.
Celebrating the 100th day of school is a big deal in the primary grades. If you can keep a secret….our snack will be a pretzel log to represent the 1 set of 100 and two mini powdered donuts to represent the two zeros.
The children are learning to look closely at leaves to think, talk and write like a scientist. Miss Duffy introduced them to hand lens’ and the Kindergartners love exploring.
Q: A man was outside taking a walk, when it started to rain. The man didn’t have an umbrella and he wasn’t wearing a hat. His clothes got soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?
Happy November! We have been learning about what science is, what scientists do and what tools they use. Our next writing unit is about looking closely. We are going to think and write like scientists!
We had a blast at Ard’s Farm Market on Friday! The White Deer Kindergarten classes loved the fun barn, the mini corn maze, and maze mountain…the tunnel slide! Our first big adventure together was the pumpkin patch, where we all found a pumpkin that was just the right size for us! The day was full of smiles and hopefully memories that last a long time!
