Here we are 1/3 of the way through the 2017-18 school year already!! Who would have thought on day 1 that day 60 would be here so quickly! Fall was unusually warm, so I hope winter is as well…that won’t please the snow lovers among us, I suppose. And it may not please my newer students who have not yet experienced the white stuff!
This year brings us several new students in the middle school and in the high school, so we have lots of English to learn as well as new friends to make and new customs to get used to. And, sadly, at the same time, we say good-bye to long-time students who are moving & one student who was with us just a short time in the middle school. His family is returning to Puerto Rico. Through our tears we wish them well…
As we help our Puerto Rican students whose families have struggled through a devastating hurricane season, we are hopeful things will return to normal there soon.
WELCOME TO ESL!! I am excited to be here at Milton working with you! I found this quote that is very appropriate for what we do!
“We can learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors . . . but they all exist very nicely in the same box.”
